Cerasuolo is the "rosato" version of Montepulciano d'Abruzzo. If compared to other "rosati" wines coming from different areas, the Cerasuolo of Abruzzi region distinguishes itself for a color slingtly more intense, and a strong and very captivating personality. Montipagano Cerasuolo is recognizable for its great freshness and its good level of acidity, which makes it very versatile for pairing with food, and extremely pleasant as a self standing aperitif.

Fisrt year of production: 2006

Production area: Municipality of Roseto degli Abruzzi

Vineyard: Planted on a soil with a perfect balance between sand and clay, and a good presence of stones, ideal for winegrowning, it has a south-west exposure and it is situated at about 200 mt above sea level. The plant density goes from the 1600 per hectar of the canopy to the 5000 per hectar of the cordon. The agronomic management is lead in compliancy with the regulations for organic agricolture.

Winemaking: After destemming, must is let to ferment at a temperature of 8-10°C for a few hours in contact with the skins. The wine thus obtained is rapidly parted from the yeasts, and kept at a temperature of about 12°C until bottling time.

The winemaker's notes: Of a very vivid pink "cerasuolo" with bright reflexes, it shows an intense bouquet of cherry and rose; on the palate, it presents a soft and well balanced taste, with a lingering final.

How to serve: At a temperature of 12-14°C, in tulip glass.
